The newly augmented Quebec offering will operate as LuxineVeritas

MONTREAL and TORONTO, May 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, has acquired Montreal-based Luxine Relations Publiques, a full-service PR and Influencer Marketing agency.  Luxine joins Veritas Communications (Veritas) as the next step in its ambitious growth strategy to focus on local markets across Canada. Caroline Dubé, Luxine’s industry-leading founder, has been appointed Senior Vice President & Head of LuxineVeritas, and joins the Veritas Executive Leadership Team.

Launched 12 years ago, Luxine is a corporate and consumer boutique PR agency in Montreal with A-List clients and the strategic and creative heft of larger, national agencies.  Veritas first opened its Montreal office a decade ago, however the opportunities in Quebec have far surpassed the size of the existing footprint. Clients and brands have recognized the need for made-in-Quebec strategies for Quebec-based audiences and the acquisition of Luxine will bolster the agency’s ability to meet that demand.

“PR and influencer marketing capabilities, including our self-service tools like PRophet in the Stagwell Marketing Cloud, have been essential to our success in the Canadian market to date,” said Mark Penn, chairman and CEO of Stagwell. “Montreal is an important geography because of its deep technology roots and leading-edge creative talent, so we didn’t hesitate when Webster brought Luxine forward as an acquisition.”

“Luxine and Dubé bring Stagwell unparalleled market insight and a singular ability to break through and influence outcomes. Quebec consumers are loyal and vocal and the market demands authentically local leaders that live and breathe Quebec,” says Krista Webster, CEO of Veritas, and Meat & Produce. “Dubé will be a key voice at the executive leadership table for the agency overall, not just Quebec.”

In addition to Dubé, her talented team of seasoned PR, influencer and social practitioners have joined the existing Veritas team in Montreal and are already making an enormous impact for national clients. The Veritas Montreal team has moved into Luxine’s premium office space, and the agency will operate under the banner LuxineVeritas, recognizing Luxine’s roots in Quebec and history of excellence in the market.

“I was drawn to Veritas because of Webster’s commitment to ensuring Quebec plays an equal voice in how the agency grows and serves clients. Nurturing Quebec-based clients and delivering our personalized approach to media will continue to be a priority as we enter this next chapter,” said Dubé.

About Veritas Communications

Veritas Communications is the most creatively awarded Canadian PR agency globally. Veritas Communications and LuxineVeritas walk the line between public relations and marketing to inspire positive word-of-mouth and drive brand preference across sectors and industries. With offices in Toronto and Montreal and satellite partners across the country, Veritas was the first to Canada with integrated social and influencer offerings.  We continue to break new ground by combining advanced technology with the latest in modern marketing, media trends, and sector expertise to help brands reach their goals.

Female-Founded Agency Grew 50% in 2023 and Will Scale Stagwell’s Presence in Brazil and Latin America as Part of Allison

SÃO PAULO, April 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, has entered into an agreement to acquire PROS Agency (PROS), a Brazil-based brand and marketing consultancy specializing in digital public relations (PR), creative planning and production, influencer marketing, and brand development. Headquartered in São Paulo, the agency will play a key role in driving business for Stagwell within Brazil as well as the greater Latin America (LATAM) region as part of Allison, a global marketing and communications consultancy within Stagwell.

“PROS’ creative strategy and digital innovation expertise helps brands create engaging and purposeful conversations with consumers, consistently pushing the boundaries of PR – making them a true leader in the region,” said Stagwell Chairman and CEO Mark Penn. “I worked in Latin America for several years and have always noted its massive growth potential. This acquisition is key to our accelerated global expansion strategy, and I’m pleased to welcome Daniela and her team to our network.”

“Since launching our operations in Brazil and Latin America two years ago we’ve driven significant results for regional brands, landed new global clients such as Lenovo and Motorola, and expanded our footprint with the additions of new agency partners to our Global Affiliate network,” said Vinicius Reis, president, Stagwell Brazil and CEO, Crispin Porter and Bogusky (CP+B) Brazil. “In less than 10 years PROS’ ‘People Relations’ approach to creative and digital storytelling has earned the agency widespread recognition and work with the most important brands in the region. Their addition to our network further strengthens Allison’s brand and positions us for significant growth in Brazil and LATAM.”

PROS employs a contemporary perspective to PR by connecting data and cultural context to execute in various formats. The team of over 130 professionals is co-led by founder and CEO Daniela Graicar and co-CEO Fernanda Tchernobilsky, as well as partner Alan Strozenberg. They will continue to lead the agency.

“It’s a great accomplishment to be part of an international network so aligned with our values and in retaining the boldness that defines us. The management autonomy that Stagwell offers us and the support for our growth were also decisive factors in this choice,” said Daniela Graicar, founder and CEO, PROS. “More than ever, we are committed to our team and clients – who have gotten us to this point – and excited about the plans for our evolution in the coming years. The depth and breadth of the Allison global network opens up tremendous opportunity for us to show up in new ways for our clients.”

With clients such as Boticário, Amazon, Mondelez, Vibra, Porto, and Kimberly Clark, the agency closed 2023 with 50% growth and expects to grow another 20% this year.

PROS will retain its leadership and will collaborate with other Brazil and Latin America agencies in the Stagwell network to expand service offerings to clients. Stagwell’s agency network in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Central America includes Allison, Assembly, Code and Theory’s Truelogic, CP+B, Ink, and Locaria.

PROS marks Stagwell’s fourth acquisition in 2024, following What’s Next Partners, Sidekick, and Team Epiphany.

WNP will be first in series of planned acquisitions for The Anomaly Alliance as Stagwell expands throughout Europe and beyond

NEW YORK, Feb. 26, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, has reached an agreement to acquire WHAT’S NEXT PARTNERS (WNP), a French digital brand and marketing consultancy specializing in data-powered strategies, integrated communications, and creative content.

WNP will become the first co-branded member of the Anomaly Alliance in a partnership model designed to expand Anomaly’s global footprint beyond its existing offices in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Berlin, and Shanghai.

WNP is one of the leading digital creative firms in Europe, exemplified in its work for clients such as Cora, Danone, Ecoutier Voir, Meetic Europe, and Savencia. WNP will deepen Anomaly’s presence in Europe and add capabilities in scaled digital content and AI-enabled CRM and data, as well as the leadership in-market to compete for and service larger European accounts.

“Anomaly continues to surge around the world because clients resonate with our relentless pursuit of effectiveness, the leveraging of the widest possible meaning of ‘creativity’ across all marketing tools, and our entrepreneurial ambition. That equation is not easily replicable and, as we expand across continents, it’s essential our clients know our partners exemplify what it means to be an anomaly,” said Carl Johnson, Anomaly Founding Partner and Executive Chairman. “In What’s Next Partners, we have found kindred spirits in Europe, and I could not be more excited to welcome them to our team.”

Guy Chauvel, Founder and CEO of WNP, brings an exceptional track record of creative leadership to the partnership, with prior tenures as EVP of J. W. T., the 3rd largest global agency, and CEO of Europe at Havas. He has directly advised on marketing and/or communication strategies for a variety of blue-chip companies including P&G, L’Oréal, Unilever, Rolex, Disney, and more.  He will drive the creation of new client solutions for WNP and the Anomaly Alliance with Carl Johnson, leveraging the breadth and depth of the Stagwell portfolio.

“Advertisers we are talking to or working with are pushing us to go international. We have always kept a close eye on Anomaly over the past 15 years as a source of inspiration and are fascinated by their model and culture,” said Guy Chauvel. “When the decision came to choose our new partner, Anomaly was the obvious choice. I am thrilled they agreed. We were also very impressed when meeting a committed, open-minded, and disruptive Stagwell executive team, and are excited to grow further as part of the network.”

“2023’s exceptional new business pipeline made it clear Stagwell’s proposition resonates with clients,” added Mark Penn, Chairman and CEO, Stagwell. “We’re all-in on expanding our unique tech-forward approach to transforming marketing in France and Europe more broadly. In 2024, we’re excited to welcome tested leaders like WNP and Guy and to build a best-in-class European team to support our clients and our talent.”

Currently, Anomaly has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Berlin and Shanghai. Further acquisitions for the Anomaly Alliance will follow ranging from Latin America to Asia Pacific.

WNP will mark Stagwell’s third acquisition announced in 2024 following the purchase of Team Epiphany, a culturalist creative agency connecting brands to multicultural consumers, in January 2024; and Sidekick, a creative collective in the U.K., in February 2024.

Lazare Consulting LLC served as the exclusive strategic M&A advisor to WNP.

Creative collective will bolster multichannel brand storytelling and creative production capabilities at Allison

NEW YORK and LONDON, Feb. 22, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, today announced it has acquired Sidekick, an award-winning collective of specialist agencies focused on experiential, digital storytelling, and branded content. Sidekick will join Allison, a global marketing and communications consultancy within Stagwell.

“Sidekick is at the forefront of storytelling and will be an essential part of the challenger marketing network we are building in Europe,” said Mark Penn, Chairman and CEO, Stagwell. “As we embark on our next chapter in Europe, I’m excited to welcome Duncan and Ollie to our network and see Allison continue to transform its content innovation capabilities.”

The addition of Sidekick will further expand Allison’s footprint in Europe and introduce capabilities in the market that are critical for a new era of integrated brand storytelling. It adds tremendous synergies to Allison’s existing core competencies of strategic communications, influencer marketing, digital, performance marketing and data analytics.

“After a successful period of collaboration with the Sidekick team, we are delighted to have them officially join the Allison family.  The organisation that the Sidekick founders have built together with their colleagues delivers an impressive suite of services that complements those already offered by Allison and leads with a strong and supportive culture that aligns with our own,” said Scott Allison, Global Chairman of Allison.  He added, “As we continue to expand our operations throughout Europe, Sidekick will form an integral part of this growth story.”

The Sidekick Group launched back in 2021 when experiential agency Kreate and content agency Many Makers came together to form a strategic arm of the business, capitalising its collective expertise on behalf of clients.  Kreate delivers ‘real-world’ activations for clients, specialising in brand experience and live events.  Many Makers is a video and brand content agency that uses digital storytelling including social media, video production, gamification and AR/VR content on behalf of the wider group.

Sidekick Co-founders Duncan McCaslin and Ollie Burgoyne will remain as Managing Directors of their respective teams and both will join Allison’s European management team.  Directors William Howe and Stephen Bradley will also move across in their current roles.  No other staffing changes are planned.

“The acquisition represents a significant leap forward in the growth of Sidekick and our people. Having seen our collective teams work successfully together over the last year or so, we knew that joining with Allison and Stagwell was the logical next step. We see this as the perfect time to combine forces, further enhancing our collective capabilities and ensuring that we continue to deliver outstanding results for our clients,” said Duncan McCaslin, MD of Sidekick and Kreate.

“This is an extremely exciting next step for Sidekick. Having worked alongside the team at Allison for the last two years, we quickly realised that we share the same vision and values.  I can’t wait for our teams to work as one and to be a part of the exciting growth plans that Scott and team have in place,” added Ollie Burgoyne, MD of Sidekick and Many Makers.

This acquisition comes amid a significant European acceleration at Stagwell, which has in recent months appointed James Townsend as CEO, EMEA, and launched a regional hub at the Blue Fin Building in London to connect its 15+ agencies and over 1900 employees within the region.

Sidekick is Stagwell’s second acquisition of the year, following the purchase of Team Epiphany, a culturalist creative agency connecting brands to multicultural consumers, in January 2024.

Team Epiphany brings influence, experiential, and multi-cultural marketing capabilities to the Constellation network

NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, has acquired Team Epiphany, a consumer marketing agency specializing in cultural relevance, experiential, progressive multi-cultural marketing, and influencer integration. Team Epiphany joins Stagwell’s Constellation network, further widening its bench of world-class culture-shaping agencies, which include 72andSunny, Instrument, and The Harris Poll, among others.

Coltrane Curtis and Lisa Chu; Credit: Andrew van Tilborgh

Launched in 2004, Team Epiphany pioneered influencer marketing as a term before Twitter or Instagram even existed. Through the power of business-proven personal relationships and integrated creative, strategy and design capabilities, award-winning agency Team Epiphany makes magic happen for clients such as Airbnb, American Express, Coca-Cola, LEGO, HBO (MAX), Campari, Amazon and many more.

Team Epiphany is led by Founder and Managing Partner Coltrane Curtis and Managing Partner Lisa Chu, who oversee a team of 100 across their New York headquarters, and Los Angeles and Miami offices. The agency’s capabilities are exemplified in its past work for:

  • AMERICAN EXPRESS – For the past five years American Express has enlisted Team Epiphany to create domestic strategies, execute live experiences, and produce engaging content that delivers business results and earned impact within targeted communities. This work is best exemplified by the AMEX “100 for 100” Program (which invested $2.5 million into Black female entrepreneurs) and multiple collaborative activations and content initiatives with celebrity entrepreneurs such as Elaine Welteroth and Issa Rae.
  • HBO (MAX) – Team Epiphany has been HBO’s partner for multicultural programming for more than a decade, executing over 80 marketing programs across its most iconic series, including the audience initiative Scene in Black, and campaigns for “Ballers” and “Insecure.” Notably, Team Epiphany’s work on “Insecure” resulted in unprecedented in-show integrations as well as a strategic partnership with Issa Rae’s HOORAE Media, announced in 2023.
  • Heineken – 15 years ago, Team Epiphany and Heineken charted a new approach to brand collaborations for the beer/spirits industry, which is still used today. Team Epiphany’s award-winning #Heineken100 program used the brand’s distinct iconography to co-create products with 40+ partners (including A Bathing Ape, TUMI, and KITH) and seeded them to global influentials – an initiative that ran for 10 consecutive years.
  • LEGO – Since 2019, Team Epiphany has partnered with The LEGO Group on a myriad of strategy, influencer, and experiential projects. A highlight of these projects was the launch (and subsequent expansion) of the innovative LEGO® Center for Creative Flow experiential series. This adults-focused series encourages free-flowing expression and mindfulness through an exclusive LEGO build moment paired with awe-inspiring and immersive elements.

“People tend to see Team Epiphany and want to compartmentalize its offerings into ‘multi-cultural’ or ‘experiential,’ but when I met the team, it became clear to me that their deep appreciation and mastery of culture is an essential ingredient for contemporary brands focused on forward-looking growth,” said Justin Lewis, chair, Constellation. “I’m excited to welcome Coltrane, Lisa, and the entire team to the network.”

“We’re excited to become a part of Stagwell and its Constellation network, a company that shares our values and looks to further Team Epiphany’s longstanding commitment to aspirational marketing, embracing culture and impacting communities of influence through our work,” said Coltrane Curtis, founder and managing partner of Team Epiphany. “As the agency celebrates its 20th anniversary, it was important to partner with an industry-leading company that believes in the growth and evolution of what Team Epiphany will become in the future while embracing our award-winning capabilities of today.”

Team Epiphany marks Stagwell’s first acquisition of the year following an acquisitive 2023 cycle with Movers+Shakers in November, Left Field Labs in October, Tinsel Experiential Design in July, and In the Companies of Huskies in April.

Social-First Agency Driving Brand Awareness and Equity with Gen Z and Millennials Joins Constellation Network

NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell (NASDAQ: STGW), the challenger network built to transform marketing, has acquired Movers+Shakers, the award-winning disruptive creative agency connecting brands to culture. The agency will join Stagwell’s Constellation network of agencies, which includes 72andSunny, Instrument, The Harris Poll, and others. Dubbed, “The TikTok whisperers,” Movers+Shakers has quickly become the go-to agency for brands looking to push into new frontiers via mainstream and emerging social media platforms, with 250 billion campaign views to date. New business momentum includes 21 new clients in 2023, including being named social media and culture agency of record for Tinder, and creative and culture agency of record for Elemis.

“With their fluency of platforms, the team at Movers+Shakers has proven itself to be the foremost authority when it comes to helping brands create cultural relevance with Gen Z and millennials,” said Justin Lewis, chair, Constellation. “Their penchant for innovation goes hand in hand with our challenger mindset, and will be a boon for those clients eager to create influence and awareness among today’s social-first consumers.”

Recognized as one of the Most Innovative Companies in the World by Fast Company, two-time #1 Fastest-Growing Agency by Adweek, and three-time Best Small Agency by Ad Age, Movers+Shakers has a track record of spurring significant sales growth and equity for brands. Employees and clients unite around the agency’s mission to “Spread joy.”

By connecting brands to culture, Movers+Shakers drives growth for clients across CPG, beauty, retail, entertainment, fashion, toys, and technology, including:

  • e.l.f. – Over the course of four years, Movers+Shakers has helped e.l.f. rise from #8 to #1 favorite beauty brand among teens and achieve 19 consecutive quarters of net sales growth. Their drumbeat of disruptive campaigns includes the #eyeslipsface challenge (the most viral campaign in TikTok history) and iconic brand collaborations with Chipotle, Dunkin, and American Eagle.
  • Neutrogena – Since 2020, Movers+Shakers has helped Neutrogena earn credibility and equity with Millennial and Gen Z consumers, through innovative social-first campaigns and content. Successes include the launch of Neutrogena’s SkinU platform across social, experiential, and retail; as well as the socially native “Hydro House” reality show (300M+ total views and 2.4M+ total likes)!
  • Netflix – Movers+Shakers helped propel viewership and conversation for Netflix titles. For example, the agency created the first-ever TikTok-native movie trailers, helping propel “Red Notice” to become the #1 most-watched Netflix movie of all time. And Netflix and Movers+Shakers pioneered the first live TikTok takeover on a Times Square Billboard, driving buzz for romcom “Your Place or Mine.”

“Joining Stagwell allows us to drive brand transformation on an even bigger scale,” said Evan Horowitz, CEO and co-founder, Movers+Shakers. “Clients are inviting us to help them in a global capacity, as well as with connected capabilities like media, experiential, data, and commerce. We chose Stagwell because we are excited to partner with its like-minded, disruptive agencies.”

The agency’s leadership continues unchanged, with Horowitz and Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Geoffrey Goldberg at the helm.

Movers+Shakers marks Stagwell’s fourth acquisition of the year, following Left Field Labs in in October, Tinsel Experiential Design in July, and In the Companies of Huskies in April.  Madison Alley Global Ventures served as exclusive strategic M&A advisor to Movers+Shakers.
