SPLIT OFFICE PERSONALITIES

Job seekers recognize that adapting to a new workplace’s culture is important, yet 2 in 3 say their personality at work is different from who they really are, according to our Harris Poll research with Express Employment Professionals.

  • 98% of job seekers say adapting to workplace culture is important.
  • Yet 63% say their work persona differs greatly from who they are day to day.
  • 80% of Gen Z have changed their personality to fit workplace culture – 69% for Millennials, 59% for Gen X and 50% for Boomers.
  • 83% believe employees who do not conform to office culture do not stay with a company long.
  • Many job seekers question whether personality should carry that much weight: 56% say personality has nothing to do with their work or ability to do the job, including 71% of Gen Z, 54% of millennials, 51% of Gen X and 36% of Boomers.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER?

Americans are stressed less by cooking than by figuring out what to cook, according to Harris Poll research with Instacart.

  • 80% of Americans say figuring out what to make for dinner causes them stress.
  • A third say the hardest part isn’t the cooking; it’s deciding what to make.
  • 3 in 5 say would use AI assistant to help determine what’s best for dinner tonight.

SIGNS STILL SELL

Business signage deeply influences where Americans shop, what they trust and which brands they remember, according to The Harris Poll and Signarama.

  • 84% say business signage affects their decision to make a purchase, and 39% have entered a business solely because of its sign.
  • 93% say signage affects whether they remember a business, while 91% say it helps a business stand out from competitors.
  • 9 in 10 say signage affects whether a business appears professional or high quality, and 75% say chaotic or hard-to-read signage makes a business seem less credible.
  • 41% have struggled to locate a business because its sign was difficult to read.
  • 17% have decided not to enter a business because of its signage.
